Manchester United Eye Shock Move for Chelsea's Jackson

Arsenal have secured their primary striker target Victor Gyokeres in a €63.5m (£54m) deal rising to €73.5m with add-ons, ending one of the summer's longest transfer sagas. The Swedish international repeatedly turned down more lucrative offers - including a late approach from Manchester United and "crazy money" from Saudi Arabia - to force through his move to North London.
"For Gyokeres, there was no other option. Only Arsenal football club," revealed transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 26-year-old took the extraordinary step of refusing to train with Sporting CP during negotiations and even sacrificed part of his salary to facilitate the deal. His agent Asan Kaya also reduced commission fees to help bridge the final €10m gap in add-on structures that had stalled negotiations for over 10 days.
The signing represents a major coup for Mikel Arteta, who gets his preferred #9 target after last season's title challenge faltered due to lack of firepower. Gyokeres' 43 goals in all competitions last season suggest he could be the missing piece for Arsenal's attack. Meanwhile, the club continues pursuing Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze despite completing deals for Valencia's Christian Mosca and extending Ethan Nwaneri's contract until 2030.
