BDO Tax is inviting motivated graduates and students to apply for its 2026 SAIT-registered Tax Trainee Programme, a structured three-year traineeship designed to develop the next generation of tax professionals.

What You’ll Experience

As a Tax Trainee, you will gain comprehensive exposure across tax functions, including:

  • Preparing and submitting tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
  • Drafting provisional and final tax calculations.
  • Handling payroll tax and VAT returns, registrations, and compliance.
  • Assisting with tax audits, investigations, and SARS engagements.
  • Drafting responses to SARS queries, VDP applications, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) submissions.
  • Conducting research on tax legislation, regulations, and case law.
  • Writing tax opinions, reports, and client advisories.
  • Participating in training sessions and professional development workshops.

This programme provides you with the skills, mentorship, and technical grounding needed to qualify as a Tax Professional under SAIT.

Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, you must have:

  • A Senior Certificate and relevant B.Com degree.
  • Completed or be studying towards a B.Com Honours in Taxation (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation and tax law.
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and client service orientation.
  • The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in diverse teams.
