Erasmus vs The World: Springboks Coach Ignites Rugby Philosophy War
Jul 15, 2025
South Africa delivered a commanding performance in Durban on Saturday, storming past Argentina with a 67-30 victory in Round 5 of the Rugby Championship 2025. The result lifts the Springboks to the top of the standings, keeping their hopes alive of retaining the title.
Fly-half Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu stole the show with a sensational hat-trick and a flawless kicking display, racking up 37 points — a new Springbok Test record. His composure, vision, and clinical finishing proved decisive in dismantling the Argentine defence.
Pieter-Steph du Toit also crossed the whitewash twice, showcasing his trademark power from the loose forward role. Tries from Cheslin Kolbe, Malcolm Marx, Morne van den Berg, and Manie Libbok sealed the Springboks’ dominance in a match that featured 13 tries in total.

The Pumas started with promise, capitalising on Springbok errors to lead briefly in the first half. A bizarre penalty try and scores from Mateo Carreras and Tomas Albornoz kept them in the contest at 25-23 by halftime.
But South Africa’s relentless attack after the break overwhelmed Argentina. Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s individual brilliance — including a stunning solo try — and South Africa’s depth off the bench turned the tide irreversibly in favour of the hosts.
