About the Programme

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), a member of the dtic, is committed to developing youth skills by providing graduates with opportunities to gain work experience. This Graduate Internship Programme equips unemployed graduates with the chance to apply their academic knowledge in a practical environment, helping them prepare for future careers.

What is an Internship?

Internships, as defined by Cabinet in 2002, are graduate work experience programmes within the public service. They are intended for unemployed graduates to acquire workplace exposure and practice the skills they studied.

Beneficiaries of the programme include:

  • Unemployed South African graduates with a diploma/degree from higher education institutions.
  • Graduates who have not previously gained work experience.
  • Graduates who have never participated in any internship programme.
  • Applicants aged 18–35 years.

Remuneration

  • Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R12 000.00.
  • Successful candidates will sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.

Requirements

  • A Diploma/Degree in:
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Operations Management
    • Quality Management
  • South African citizenship.
  • Applicants must attach:

    • Academic transcript of their relevant qualification

Additional Information

  • Qualification and citizenship checks will be conducted.
  • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • Candidates must be available for interviews as scheduled by CIPC.
