Introduction

Eskom, South Africa’s leading energy supplier, has opened applications for its Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme at Arnot Power Station in Mpumalanga. This initiative is part of the broader public-private partnership led by the Presidency, aimed at tackling the youth unemployment crisis in the country.

Through this programme, Eskom is offering unemployed young South Africans the chance to gain valuable first work experience in the energy industry. Successful candidates will be appointed on a 12-month fixed-term contract and placed across Eskom operations nationwide.

Job Description

The YES programme provides exposure to various departments within Eskom, equipping participants with essential workplace skills.

Key conditions include:

• Applicants must not have been permanently employed with a single employer for more than 1 year.
• Applicants must not be studying full-time in the year of employment.
• Applicants must not have participated or registered on the YES initiative before.

Successful candidates will undergo a recruitment process and, if selected, will be placed in Eskom operations across South Africa.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a South African Citizen
• Age: 18 – 34 years
• Education: Grade 12 or equivalent and/or post-matric certificate/programme
