About the Programme

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), a member of the dtic, is committed to empowering youth through skills development. The Graduate Internship Programme is designed to provide unemployed graduates with valuable work experience to complement their academic studies.

This internship offers practical workplace exposure, preparing graduates for careers in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.

What is an Internship?

Internships, introduced by Cabinet in 2002, are public service graduate programmes that give unemployed graduates workplace experience. These programmes allow students to apply their academic knowledge in real work environments.

Beneficiaries include:

  • Unemployed South African graduates who have completed a degree or diploma.
  • Graduates with no prior work experience.
  • Graduates who have never participated in an internship programme.
  • Applicants aged 18–35 years.

Remuneration

  • A monthly stipend of R12 000.00 will be offered.
  • Successful candidates must sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.

Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in:
    • Occupational Health & Safety
    • Environmental Science
  • South African citizenship.
  • Applicants must attach:
    • Updated CV
    • Academic transcript of their qualification

Additional Information

  • Qualifications and citizenship checks will be conducted.
  • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • Applicants must be available for interviews as scheduled by CIPC.
