The Commission, chaired by Justice Madlanga, is tasked with investigating criminality, political interference, and corruption within South Africa’s criminal justice system. Testimonies in recent weeks have drawn attention to allegations of syndicate-linked corruption within SAPS and political structures, making the hearings closely watched by the public and civil society.
The Commission confirmed that public hearings will officially resume on 13 October 2025, when both Commissioners and witnesses are expected to be available.
“The Commission wishes to assure the public of its continued commitment to ensuring a transparent and thorough inquiry into these matters of national importance,” Michaels said.
